LESSON 1 OF 5
Prepare a quote for client review
Prepare and review a quote before a person sends it to the client.
Overview
A quote records the work and price you are asking a client to agree to. Review the scope, amounts, recipient, and message before sending it.
The client review page records acceptance with the person’s name and confirmation of the agreement. Acceptance records who accepted and when and creates a linked invoice. If a deposit is requested on acceptance, paying that deposit can be the client’s next step.
Before you start
You need an enabled customer-invoicing workspace, appropriate access, and completed business and payment setup. Have the client, deal, scope, and prices ready.
1Create the quote
Open Invoices, create a quote, and choose the relevant client and deal.
2Check the agreement
Review every line item and amount, including any context brought in from the deal. Confirm the scope, expiry, and payment schedule.
3Preview and review the send
Use Preview to check the client document. Open Review & send to review the recipient and outgoing message before confirming a send.
4Understand the client’s next step
Review the client-facing quote and acceptance information. Starting the delivery project is a separate reviewed action after the agreement.
Put it into practice
The quote is ready for an informed send decision, with the scope and payment schedule checked. Name-and-confirmation acceptance is not an electronic-signature service.
