Build client relationships

LESSON 2 OF 7

Add the people you work with

Save a person and associate them with the relevant company and deal.

Overview

Contacts holds the people involved in your client relationships. A company gives you the wider relationship; the contact identifies the person within it.

Use the existing contact when that person returns with another job. Keeping one accurate record makes it easier to check the details before reaching out.

Before you start

Have the relevant company ready and gather the contact details you know.

1Create the contact

Open Contacts and add the person. Use a recognizable name so teammates can find the right record.

2Add useful details

Enter their role and known contact information, such as email and phone. Review the details for accuracy.

3Connect the relationship

Associate the contact with their company and link a deal when they are involved in that opportunity.

4Save and verify the record

Save the contact and open their name from the list. Check that you can also find them from the company’s Contacts tab. Review recorded context before acting on relationship indicators.

Put it into practice

The person is saved and linked to the relevant client and opportunity. Communication indicators reflect recorded context, not every personal message or call.
